The SVPSO Intro to Debate Coaching class was a great experience! The way they taught us the fundamentals of debate was effective. I learned how to research, build strong arguments, and speak confidently in front of others. The best part was how they encouraged us to practice and improve our skills. It's not just about theory; they help you become a better debater. I'd recommend this class to anyone interested in debate - you'll learn a lot and have fun doing it!

It was a great class. I really enjoyed it. I have never done any speeches and thought it was really difficult. But after these classes, I understood how great and enjoyable it is to express your thoughts. Thank you.

In this class, I overcame my fear of public speaking and discovered its value in self-expression and self-discovery. Engaging topics like "How to Improve Our Schools" provided fresh perspectives, while supportive teachers offered constructive feedback that fostered growth without overwhelming me. Though nervousness persists, I've gained strategies to manage it and am now reinvigorated in my passion for public speaking.

I'd totally recommend the Humorous Interpretation speech class to other middle schoolers because it's a cool addition to your speech and debate practice. It's not just about being less nervous; it's about having more fun in the whole speech and debate scene.

But what's even cooler is how it makes typically boring school stuff, like writing, grammar, speech and debate, public speaking, and vocabulary, surprisingly fun. So yeah, I'd say go for it, not just for the academic stuff but because it's genuinely a blast.

Cindy (Congressional Debate)

This class tremendously helped me with techniques to author speeches faster and how to debate effectively. Additionally, I learned several useful tips for my debate arguments. I enjoyed this class - it was fun participating and answering questions while learning critical public speaking skills. This class has made me more eager to pursue public speaking. I felt more comfortable and confident with presenting various topics. Public speaking is important because it lets you speak more fluently and gives you more ideas on convincing people to do something you want them to do. It also helps you win arguments against your parents.

Keerthy Reddy (Intro to Debate)

I am very satisfied with the class. We were shown examples of how we should present our speech, and we practiced many topics. The topics ranged from easy to more difficult. We also discussed pressing issues like how we could improve our school.  Initially, it was difficult for me to understand the concept of the speech, but after several trials, I understood it, and everything was completely all right.   The debate and the impromptu sessions were very useful and opened many new opportunities for us.

I thoroughly enjoyed this congressional debate class as it provided valuable guidance on crafting speeches under time constraints. Throughout the sessions, I grew increasingly at ease and confident in discussing diverse topics. I now feel more adept at articulating my viewpoints and organizing my speeches effectively. These skills are crucial for me to communicate persuasively and make a meaningful impact with my ideas. Moreover, they have enabled me to overcome my apprehension of speaking before unfamiliar audiences and debating in front of large crowds.
